In April 2016, GRM held their bi-ennial conference, focusing on optimisation and showcasing the latest developments in the field of design optimisation techniques. At this conference our own Marine Favre-Decloux presented a Demonstration of the diverse applications of optimisation, with a focus on Topology using GRM’s Topology Optimisation tools.
Looking back at OED2016, GRM have been creating one page documents to highlight the main points of each presentation. This particular presentation looks at 4 different projects, showing how topology optimisation can be used on everyday items and designs.
This presentation looks at a Z3 Wing Stay and a Downhill Bike Crown which were optimised using TruForm SW, and a Canteliver Pedestal and Upright Top from a Hill Climb Racing Car, which were optimised using Genesis.
