Academy Racing win the F1 in schools UK championship and are looking for even more success at the World Finals in Kuala Lumpur later this year.

After successfully finishing in second place in their regional championship, where Academy Racing were awarded prizes for Best R&D and Best Team Identity, the GRM Sponsored Student team went on to be crowned the UK Champions at the end of March. The team are looking to repeat their success at the World Finals in Kuala Lumpur later this year.

Minimising the weight of the designed vehicle was crucial to make it accelerate rapidly which is why Academy Racing utilised TruForm SW to optimise the design of their wheels. The final optimised design was then 3D printed in Titanium.

The team was made up of a Graphics Designer – Abi Hirons, a Team Manager – Eddy Hodierne, a Marketing Manager – Callum Kennedy and a Design Engineer – Alias Khimasia. Callum had the fastest reaction time on the team, and let them to breaking the record for the UK’s fastest car, beating the previous record, which happens to have also been set by Academy Racing.GRM Consulting congratulate Academy Racing on their success thus far, and wish them the best of luck as they go on to the World Finals in Malaysia.
